CRITERIA:

1.Quality of workmanship as evidenced by mastery of materials and the employment of techniques appropriate to the media. Technical proficiency should be uniformly evident throughout the body of work presented.

2. Contributions to the field as evidenced by a design and execution, which indicates understanding and appreciation of the underlying principles of the Roycroft tradition such as simplicity, purity of form, functional integrity and stylistic authenticity appropriate to the particular discipline within which the artisan works.

3. Innovation as evidenced by continuous professional growth and development resulting in artistic accomplishment, which reflects successful experimentation or exploration leading to the discovery of new or heretofore untried methods of creation and production.

4. Originality of expression conveyed by a personal aesthetic that establishes the artisan's creative abilities through an individual style, control of formal properties, or other attributes thus distinguishing the artisan's work uniquely as his/her own

 5. Professional recognition demonstrated by credentials, reputation and accomplishments in such areas as critical acknowledgement in print or electronic media; awards, grants, prizes, fellowships, honoraria; educational background and academic positions held, full or part time; craft shows and art exhibitions both competitive and invitational; inclusion in permanent collections either public or private; professional memberships and associations.
